Early Arrival Housing Request

Students should make every effort to plan their travel to Brown based on a Sunday arrival and check-in time between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Students arriving after 1pm on Sunday may check-in at the Office of Residential Life, 27 Brown Street until 6pm. Students arriving after 6pm on Sunday must check-in at the Communication Center, 75 Waterman Street. After 9 p.m., they will be given a temporary room for the evening and receive their permanent residence hall assignment the next morning at 27 Brown Street.

Students who are arriving from distances greater than 350 miles from Brown may request to arrive early on the Saturday before their program begins. Permission for early arrival must be requested and approved in advance of the program.

Late Departure Housing Request

All students (including one-week students) may leave campus on Friday after attending their last class and should check out of the residence hall no later than 10 p.m. Some classes end at 6:30 PM. If class schedules or long distance travel plans necessitate staying on Friday night, you must request to stay until Saturday using the on-line form (see the Continue button below). There is no fee for extended housing.

If a student meets the early arrival/late departure criteria please click the button below to continue to the request form. As buildings are in use throughout the summer the rooms for specific programs may not be available until Sunday at 9:00am, therefore any approved early arrivals may be housed in a different building than the one they will be assigned to on Sunday.
